Joining the Team

Would you be a suitable person to become a Home Inventories Inventory Professional?

Which is better, training given that leads to becoming an accredited professional or being handed a certificate for attending a course?

We use a skills and competencies questionnaire to identify suitable candidates prior to them starting a course. The courses are both classroom and practical, with ongoing working assessment and advice until the required level of ability is reached.

Inventory submissions and working practice is closely monitored and the work assessed for accuracy through random checks. Best practice can only be maintained if a strictly applied continuous program of development CPD is in place. Each accredited person must attend refresher training each year to maintain their status. (To maintain your accreditation you will be required to undertake an annual assessment.)

The basic requirements are - You will have personality and an eye for detail, possess standard desk top skills also the confidence and ability to communicate across all sectors of society.

  1. The first step to becoming a Home Inventory accredited professional requires the completion of a suitability questionnaire, you will also receive an information pack outlining just what is involved and the balance of skills best suited to become a professional inventories provider.
  2. Training commences, to include all aspects of providing this demanding and rewarding career.
  3. Accreditation is awarded after a period of continuous assessment. You will be able to start within a short time frame and within 6 months (dependent on activity levels) you should be a fully accredited Home Inventories Professional.
  4. Automatic eligibility to enjoy the protection of Professional Indemnity Insurance held by Home Inventories Ltd.

Continuous Assessment

The training program will teach and examine both those new to the inventory business and those already working as clerks who want to implement the Home Inventories “Living Inventory” system. Our accreditation is based upon a program of continuous assessment. By scrutinising each inventory from compilation to check-out, we monitor the skills and ability required to achieve and then maintain registration as an accredited Home Inventories professional.
